DreamWorks Trolls The Musical JR. is a colorful, high-energy musical based on the hit DreamWorks animated film. The story follows the endlessly optimistic Poppy, leader of the Trolls, whose world is turned upside down when the gloomy Branch warns that the Trolls are in danger from the Bergens  - creatures who believe happiness can only come from eating Trolls.

When several Trolls are captured, Poppy sets out on a rescue mission with the reluctant Branch. Along the way, they discover that happiness isn’t something you can force or consume - it comes from connection, self-acceptance, and supporting one another. The adventure takes them into Bergen Town, where they encounter characters like Bridget, a kind-hearted scullery maid, and Prince Gristle, the insecure ruler of the Bergens.

Filled with pop songs, bright visuals, humor, and heart, the show celebrates individuality, friendship, and finding your true colors.

REHEARSAL DAYS AND TIMES - tentatively set as :

Tue and Thurs - 4.30 to 6pm
Saturday 10 - 1pm

If we fall behind, or need extra time we will add Wednesdays.

$50 fee to participate - only paid upon being cast. These funds become part of our production budget for set, costumes, props etc.

ROLES AVAILABLE - ( 7 to 25 actors - some doubling may happen)

Poppy
Queen of the Trolls, has a positive attitude and infectious can-do spirit. Poppy does it all: sings, dances, acts, directs, and writes, all while inspiring those around her.

Branch
Poppy’s counterpart, is a serious- minded Troll. Though Branch is pessimistic at times, he ultimately wants what’s best for Poppy and the rest of the Trolls.

King Gristle
The likeable young Bergen monarch, might lack ruling experience, but he makes up for it with his great friendship with all Trolls. King Gristle should have a great sense of comic timing and should pair well with Bridget.

Chef
A scheming, egomaniacal Bergen with a taste for Trolls.

Bridget
She a sweet and soft-spoken Bergen. Though she’s a bit naïve, Bridget is a true romantic and is willing to go the extra mile to help King Gristle.

Marie Bergenette
A spoiled princess from a powerful Bergen kingdom overseas. Cast a stellar actor and a strong singer who can command the stage with Marie’s larger- than-life personality. Marie could have a French accent, so long as the audience can clearly understand the actor onstage.

Biggie
A large, cuddly Troll who goes nowhere without his friend Mr. Dinkles, a sock puppet voiced by the actor playing Biggie.

Guy Diamond
A cheeky, glitter-covered
Troll with a signature autotune voice.

Cooper
A goofy Troll who loves parties and farts cupcakes.

Satin
Satin and Chenille are conjoined fashionista Troll twins.

Chenille
Satin and Chenille are conjoined fashionista Troll twins.

Smidge
A tiny Troll who says what we’re all thinking.

A hip and loyal team player who wears DJ cans (a.k.a. headphones).

Pyrotechnics Troll
A skilled technician (albeit accident-prone) who loves crafting show- stopping theatrical moments, especially when fire is involved.

Trilliam Trollspeare
The Troll version of William Shakespeare.

Echo
An additional member of the Royal Hype Crew, is Extreme Announcer’s right-hand Bergen, making sure all key phrases land with epic impact!

Reporters
TMZ-style field reporters or streamers. 

​

Advisor
A master of ambiguity, but only
because they want to keep their job.
